Burnice Baker Klemme
Burnice Baker Klemme, 90, of Connersville, passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2014, at her home.
One of three children, she was born March 7, 1923 in Connersville, the daughter of Milton and Bessie Baker, both of whom preceded her in death.
In October 1945, Burnice was married to Charles William Klemme in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at Lyonsville, Indiana. She and her husband farmed in Jackson Township, east of Everton, until his health no longer permitted him to meet its physical demands. They moved into Connersville and Charles continued managing the farm operation until his death on March 16, 1960.
As a young widow with four young children, Burnice carried on the management of the family farm and dedicated her life to her children as a stay-at-home mom, something that was of utmost importance to her. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Connersville.
Burnice is survived by four children, Carol Sue (George) Henry and Cathy Jo (Sam) Harvey, both of Connersville, John William (Cecilia) Klemme, M.D., of St. John, Indiana and Brent Allan (Jane) Klemme of Greenfield, Indiana, grandchildren, Tara Henry and Rachel (Nate) Pfeiffer, M.D., both of Connersville, John C. Klemme of Cedar Lake, Indiana, Jennifer Klemme of Chicago, Illinois, Cassandra Klemme of St. John, Jared Harvey of New Albany, Indiana, Adam Klemme of Columbus, Indiana, Paige Klemme of Greenfield and step-grandson, Benjamin (Mandy) Harvey, step-great-grandchildren, Cooper and Claire Harvey, all of Connersville, one sister, Wanetta Scott, three sisters-in-law, Dora Leab, Mabel Brockley and Ruth Ann Gulley, a niece, Marsha Gettinger, all of Connersville, and a nephew, Jim Scott of Liberty, Indiana.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jaclyn Harvey, her brother, Clarence Baker, and a sister-in-law, Mary Scholl.
Funeral Services will be conducted 7 PM Friday, February 7, 2014, at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home with Rev. Curtis Hurley officiating. Friends may call at the Funeral Home from 4 PM until the time of the service on Friday; they may also visit anytime online at millermosterrobbins.com. Burial will be in Everton Cemetery at the convenience of the family with Rev. Mark Powell officiating.
