Charles William Maples, 67, formerly of Connersville passed away unexpectedly at his home in Las Vegas, Nevada on March 12, 2018.
A son of Willie E. and Sara Evelyn Bates Maples, Charles was born on June 9, 1950, in Huntsville, Alabama.
He served his country in the United States Army with the Green Beret Special Forces during the Vietnam era. Following his honorable discharge from the Army, Charles worked at Philco-Ford in Connersville before moving to Las Vegas.
Survivors include his daughter, Katina Maners of Connersville; two grandchildren, Joshua Dawson (companion, Crystal Johnson) and Katelyn Garrison, all of Connersville; a great-grandson, Brayten Dawson; a sister, Mary (Gene) Bailey of Tennessee; four brothers, R.L. (Brenda) Maples, Wayne Maples, Neal (Brenda) Maples, all of Alabama, and Earl (Linda) Maples of Tennessee.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Doris Cross and Bonnie Maples-Cloud; three brothers, Gene Maples, Stanley Maples, and Ed Maples.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
