Charles S. “Charlie” Marcum, 77, of Connersville, passed away late Thursday evening, March 1, 2018, at St. Vincent Heart Center, Indianapolis.
One of four children of Neal and Lillie Stanley Marcum, Charles was born on May 6, 1940, in Brookville, Indiana.
Charles served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
On December 28, 1963, Charles married the former Judy C. Stacey in Brookville, Indiana. Mrs. Marcum passed away on November 17, 2012.
For several years, Charles worked at D & M in Connersville. For 20 years, he was a bus driver for Greyhound and for five years he drove a school bus for Fayette County School Corporation.
In his leisure time, he enjoyed boating, fishing, riding his motorcycle, playing with his dogs, and feeding the neighborhood squirrels.
Survivors include two sisters, Wanda Jean (Edward) Roach and Anna Ruth Frye, all of Hamilton, Ohio; a niece, Ericka Vaughn; three nephews, Howard Frye, Brian Frye, and Edward Roach, II; three great-nieces; and two great-nephews.
Besides his wife of 48 years, Judy Marcum, Charles was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, Earl Lewis Marcum.
Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 10, 2018, at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home. Reverend Kevin Waltz will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Brookville.
