Donald Marion Lindsay, 83, of Odessa, Missouri, formerly of Connersville, passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2017, at the Shangri-La Rehab & Nursing Home in Blue Springs, Missouri.
Donald was born January 18, 1934, in Connersville, one of four children of Ardor and Mary Baker Lindsay and was a 1953 graduate of Connersville High School.
For 37 years, he was employed at Roots Connersville Dresser Industries, retiring in 1990 as a Timekeeper with the company.
On July 25, 1970, he was married in Connersville to Martha (Revel) Lindsay. Following his retirement from Roots, they moved to Odessa, Missouri for residence. Mrs. Lindsay survives.
He was a member of the Central Christian Church. Donald was also a 49-year member of the Warren Lodge #15, F & AM; a 47-year member of the Connersville Chapter #346, Order of the Eastern Star where he had served as Worthy Patron and a 47-year member of the Scottish Rite, of Indianapolis. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Donald enjoyed golfing and bowling.
Survivors besides his wife, Martha Lindsay, include two children, Connie Bates, of Blue Springs, Missouri, and David Lloyd Ward Jr., of Odessa, Missouri; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Ray Lindsay, and wife, Judy, of Batesville, Indiana and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Lindsay and a sister, Ruth Scott.
A Celebration of Don's Life will be held at 1:30 PM, Monday, July 17, 2017, at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home where friends may call at the funeral home from 11 AM until 1 PM that day. Eastern Star Memorial Services, conducted by Connersville Chapter #346 will be held at 1 PM followed by Masonic Memorial Services, conducted by Connersville Warren Lodge #15.
