Gary "Butch" Stephens, Sr.October 19, 1950 ~ July 13, 2017 (age 66)
Gary R. "Butch" Stephens, Sr., of Connersville, passed away suddenly at his home on Thursday, July 13, 2017.
One of four children of Raymond E. and Leota M. Quante Stephens, Butch was born on October 19, 1950, in Connersville. He graduated Short High School in Liberty, Indiana with the class of 1970.
Butch owned and operated Stephens Roofing and Sheet Metal for over 25 years, serving commercial, farm and residential customers in Indiana and Ohio. He also owned the Wayside Antique Shop in the Liberty Mall for several years.
On May 28, 2005, Butch married the former Zanetta Faye Boggs in Richmond, Indiana. Mrs. Stephens survives.
Butch was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses and in his leisure enjoyed flea markets, antique malls and shops, history, art, movies, and reading the Bible daily.
Besides his wife of over twelve years, Zanetta Stephens, survivors include his children, Gary R. “B.J.” Stephens, Jr. of Liberty, Bridget Carden of Liberty, Gidget Dickenson of Liberty; six grandchildren, Kade Stephens, Quinn Stephens, Caleb Carden, William (Sara) Dickenson, Stephen Dickenson, and Ty Dickenson; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Zelta (Donald) Stout of Tampa, Florida and Sharon Brant of Shelbyville; several nieces and nephews.
Butch was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Alice Parret; and a brother-in-law, Earl Brant.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until the time of memorial service at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home. Gary Isaacs of Kingdom Hall will officiate.
