Homer Estill Howard, 86, of Metamora passed away Saturday evening, July 1, 2017 at St. Andrew Health Campus in Batesville.
One of seven children of A.C. and Amanda Greer Howard, Homer was born on December 30, 1930 in Estill County, Kentucky.
Homer was a horticulturist for over 40 years with Hill’s Roses in Richmond and was a member of Elmgrove Baptist Church in Metamora. In his leisure time, he enjoyed fishing, listening to Bluegrass music, playing guitar and banjo, and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his companion of over 21 years, Reva Robinson of Metamora; two sons, Daniel Howard of Richmond, Indiana and Jeff Howard of Berea, Kentucky; two step-sons, Robert (Patty) Robinson of New Salem, Indiana, Dave (Lisa) Robinson of Metamora; a step-daughter, Donna (Brian) Prifogle of Connersville; ten grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a brother, William (Shirley) Howard of Springboro, Ohio.
Homer was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughters, Susie Robinson and Sheri McQueen; a brother, Earl Howard; four sisters, Della Napier, Mae Napier, Cleo Dorton, and Hazel Gordon.
Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home. Pastor Randy Edwards will officiate. Burial will follow at Laurel North Cemetery.
