Joseph L. Bottles, 63, of Connersville, passed away late Monday evening, March 5, 2018, at his residence.
One of three sons of Phillip L. and Ruth Miller Bottles, Joe was born on June 26, 1954, in Connersville.
Joe graduated from Connersville High School with the class of 1972 and in early 1975, he joined the United States Army and became a Pianist in the Army Band Career Field. After Basic Training at Fort Knox, Kentucky, he attended training at the Armed Forces School of Music in Norfolk, Virginia, with a follow-on assignment to the 4th Infantry Division Band at Fort Carson, Colorado. He serves for three years in the United States Army.
On February 6, 1982, Joe married the former Donna Sue Richardson. Mrs. Bottles passed away on February 5, 2012.
Joe was employed as a Financial Systems Manager for Finish Line Athletic Apparel Corporation and for several years was Assistant Choral Director at Richmond High School.
Joe served as the church organist at First United Methodist Church for many years and had been a member of the Free & Accepted Masons. Having a talent for music, Joe enjoyed playing a part in area musical theater production groups and listening to his favorite band, Chicago.
Survivors include a son, Nick Bottles of New Bedford, Massachusetts; a brother, John (Susan) Bottles of Edison, New Jersey; a nephew, Michael Bottles; and a niece, Lisa Calicchio.
Besides his wife of thirty years, Sue Bottles, Joe was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Greg Bottles; and a brother, George Bottles.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at First United Methodist Church with Pastor Frank Oakman officiating. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
