John Foughty

September 16, 1959 ~ December 28, 2017 (age 58)

The Piano Brothers

John Foughty, 58, of Connersville passed away early Thursday morning, December 28, 2017, at Reid Health in Richmond.

The son of the late Phillip and Evelyn Knotts Foughty, John was born in Bellefontaine, Ohio on September 16, 1959.  He graduated Connersville High School with the class of 1978 and a few years later moved to the Hamilton-Cincinnati, Ohio area for residence.

Although he never served in the military, John was a strong advocate of military veterans and the armed forces.  He organized and volunteered for many events in support of the military.

John was an avid, life member of the Hamilton Fairfield Jaycees, having held over a dozen positions within the club.  Always community oriented, John was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 36 in Hamilton, Ohio, a certified paramedic, and a volunteer for the Whitewater Valley Rail Road.  He was a longtime supporter and member of the Republican Party, having received the Medal of Merit from President Ronald Reagan for his help with the Republican Presidential Task Force.

In his leisure time, John enjoyed watching trains pass through town and collecting model railroad trains.

Survivors include two cousins, Connie Wilt of Connersville and Dale Wilt of Botkins, Ohio.

In keeping with John's wishes, there will be no services held at this time.  Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
