Robert "Robby" Wayne Higbie, 51, of Connersville passed away Thursday evening, November 23, 2017, at Heritage House of Connersville following a courageous eight-month battle with cancer.  One of ten children of George Melvin and Mary Elizabeth Weadick Higbie, Robert was born on November 30, 1965, in Connersville.  

He was a St. Gabriel School Alumni and graduated Connersville High School with the class of 1985.  While in high school, Robby attended the Whitewater Technical Career Center for two years where he studied Auto Body Repair.  He also attended Ivy Tech College.

Robby was employed at Stant Manufacturing, Gray Sales, Pilkington of Shelbyville, and recently as a transit driver for Fayette County Senior Center.

On June 20, 2015, Robby married the former Valerie Mae Martin in Connersville.  Mrs. Higbie survives.

Robby was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church, Connersville Jaycees, and the John Conner Players.  In his leisure time, he enjoyed collecting classic cars, attending auctions, antique shopping, and taking care of his pet birds and flowers.

Besides his wife of over two years, Valerie Higbie, Robby is survived by two daughters, Nicole (Andrew) Roosa of Laurel and Melaina Higbie of Connersville; seven grandchildren, Jacob, Braidyn, Jaisen and Kaiser DeHaven, Jayden and Noah Roosa, Kameryn Higbie; five sisters, Martha Ann (Earnest) Nobbe of Richmond, Patty Lou Keenan, Kathleen (Brackie) Byrd, Georgetta Higbie (life-partner, Willie Isaacs), and Maggie (Michael) Pitstick, all of Connersville; two brothers, Melvin (Bev) Higbie and Marvin Higbie (life-partner, Vickie Griffin) all of Connersville; father and mother-in-laws, Bill and Janie Martin of Connersville, Kathleen and Ed Brown of Rochester, New Hampshire; brother-in-law, Danny Lutz of Tulsa, Oklahoma; a cousin, Paul Franklin Higbie and an uncle, John Allen Higbie.  Robby was blessed with dear friends, Estes and Shirley Oliver of Connersville and a number of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Robby was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Brendon Craig Higbie on July 21, 2009; a step-son, Andrew Michael Coburn on January 21, 2012, a brother, Michael Higbie; a sister, Donna Jean Lutz; and Darrel Harrison, longtime companion of Robby's sister, Georgetta.

Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 29, 2017, at St. Gabriel Catholic Church.  Reverend Dustin Boehm will officiate.  Burial will follow at Lick Creek Cemetery. Friends are invited to a prayer service and time of sharing at 4:30 p.m. followed by visitation until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home.
