Wanda Mary (Smith) LindsayJuly 7, 1924 ~ February 6, 2017 (age 92)
Wanda Mary Lindsay, 92, of Connersville passed away Monday, February 6, 2017 at Premier Healthcare of Connersville.
The daughter of Clarence A. and Mildred Kuchenbuch Smith, Wanda was born on July 7, 1924. She is a 1938 graduate of St. Gabriel Catholic School and Connersville High School with the class of 1942.
On February 28, 1946 she married Gerald "Jerry" Lindsay. Mr. Lindsay passed away on January 6, 1986.
Wanda worked in the office of American Kitchen before she became credit manager for Sherwin Williams. In 1971, she and her husband bought Wanee’’s Wallpaper Store and in 1973 opened Lindsay’’s Paint and Decorating Shoppe, retiring in 1985.
Wanda was a lifelong member of St. Gabriel Catholic church where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and took communion to the home bound. She was on the Bereavement Committee and a member of St. Ann’’s Altar Society and Golden Gabriels.
She was honored by being named St. Gabriel School Alumna of the Year for 2012.
Wanda was also a member of the Friends of the Library, Historic Connersville, Fayette Memorial Auxiliary, Fayette County Cancer Board, Senior Center and a volunteer at Lincoln East and Eagle Creek Nursing Homes.
Wanda was formerly a member of Lambda Chi Sorority, Connersville Chapter of ABWA and the Daughters of Isabella.
Survivors include her sons, Greg (Laurie) Lindsay of Leland, North Carolina and Brad (Sherry) Lindsay of Gainsville, Florida; two grandsons, Garrett Lindsay of Los Angeles, California and Brandon Lindsay of Burke, Virginia, and her close friend and caretaker of seven years, Sandy Burton of Connersville.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband of over 39 years, Jerry Lindsay.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church. Father Stan Herber will officiate.
Burial will follow at Dale Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4:30 until 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home where the Rosary will be recited at 4:00 p.m.
