Henrietta Spurlock
Henrietta Saylor Spurlock, 73 of Laurel, passed away at the Fayette Regional Health Systems Tuesday morning, March 6, 2012.
She was born August 4, 1938 in Sexton Creek, Kentucky, one of six children graced to Jesse and Oma Sizemore Saylor. When she was young, her family moved to Laurel and she graduated from Laurel High School. Later, she married Carl W. Spurlock, Sr. on June 16, 1960; Mr. Spurlock died March 25, 1981.
She was employed for many years at Ford, retiring from there in 1993 – in her leisure, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially watching her grandchildren participate in sporting events – she was also a former member of the Eastern Star.
She was a member of Hillsdale Baptist Church, Clarksville, Tennessee.
She is survived by five children, J. D. Saylor and his wife Diane of Houston, Texas, Carlene K. Rayburn of Laurel, IN, Melinda S. Ault and LaWanda G. Spurlock, both of Connersville, and Carl W. Spurlock, Jr. and his wife Tracy of Pleasant View, Tennessee, fifteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, a brother, Bobby Saylor and his wife Joan of Austin, Texas, a sister, Geraldine Leach and her husband Wade, and a sister-in-law, Susan Saylor, both of New Castle, Indiana.
Besides her husband twenty years, she is preceded by a sister, Rosena Hurd, a brother, Gary Saylor and her parents, Jesse Saylor and Oma Crouch.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Friday, March 9, 2012, at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home with Rev. Leonard Carpenter, officiating. Burial will be in Laurel North Cemetery.
