Alice M. Callahan

Alice M. Callahan, 71, of Connersville, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, July 27, 2013, surrounded by her loving family at her residence.

A life-long resident of Connersville and the oldest of five children, she was born November 21, 1941, the daughter of Eugene and Dorothy Buchanan George, and was a graduate of Connersville High School.

On July 22, 1972, she was married in Connersville to Sam Callahan; Mr. Callahan passed away on December 2, 1998.

For more than thirty years, she was employed as a Home-Care Giver in the local area.

She enjoyed playing cards, watching baseball games and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include a son, Allen R. Welter and his wife, Velvet of Connersville, a granddaughter, Casey N. Welter and her daughter, Madison M. Welter  of Connersville,  two grandsons, Devon R. Welter and his wife, Kayla and their son, Masyn Ray Welter, of Connersville and Dustin W. Welter and his wife, Samantha of Charleston, IN, step-grandchildren, Jessica Hicks and Greg Hicks both of Campbellsville, KY, Sabina “Beanie” Moore and her children, Kanen Moore, Kenza Stevens and Kyzer Moore, all of Connersville, and Ben Moore and his daughter, Ravyn Moore of Connersville, a step-great grandson, Uriah Oliver of Connersville, a sister, Rita Lamoreaux of Muncie, IN,  a brother, Tom George of Connersville, a brother-in-law, Don Dawson of Connersville,  step-grandchildren, Chassidy Pisarra and her husband, Luis Pisarra, their children, Heather Rager, Alicia Salazer and Paulo Salazer all of Elkton, KY, and a step-daughter, Cathy Callahan of Florida; she was also blessed with several nieces, nephews, cousins and a special friend, Brennen Schoenfeld and family of Connersville.

Beside her husband of twenty-six years, Sam Callahan, she was preceded in death by her former husband, Raymond T. Welter, a great-grandson, Anthony Oliver Jr., her parents, and two sisters, Kay Dawson and Patricia Durham.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home with Rev. Fletcher Callahan officiating; burial will be in Dale Cemetery – family and friends may call at the funeral home from 11 AM until 1 PM on Tuesday; they may also visit anytime online at millermosterrobbins.com.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lord’s Kitchen.
