To all my cousins (The Spicer family) I was saddened to hear about Aunt Florida. What a wonderful, strong woman, and could cook too!!!! My last memory of Aunt Peach was one Saturday when I went to Judy's and all my Aunts were there, Aunt Peach, Aunt Nell, Aunt Rosey and cousins, Judy, Joyce and Mary. What a beautiful day! We just told stories, laughed and took pictures. For all who knows Aunt Florida, she wouldn't take any pictures until her lipstick was in place (smile). I couldn't stop talking about that day. My prayers go out to the family. I love you!!

My Dear Cousins,
I am so sad about the death of your Darling Mother and my Dear Aunt. I am sorry that I cannot be with you during this trying time. Please know that my love and prayers are with all of you. I will always think of the wonderful times our families shared back in the good ol'days. Especially, Aunt Florida's peach cobbler, it was the BEST! Gene, you are such an inspiration to everyone and I know you will give a fine discourse on Saturday. Each of you stay close and draw comfort from the scriptures and hold on to the promises that God grants to his people. I love you Nate,Joe, Gene, and Judy.

I can not say that I ever Knew Aunt Peach the way I would have like to. I can however say that as a child, I thought with a name like "Peach" she had to be sweet like when a child has sweet cling peaches for the first time trying to make sure they get every drop of the syrup. I thought her like my grandmother, her sister in law I thought to be strong and at the same time Angelic. It was an honor for me to introduce my son to her. My thoughts and love are with you! I'm sorry that I can not be there to be there with you.

Mrs. Spicer is certainly to be recorded as Matriarch of one of Indiana's greater families.
They called her "Peach "...- "you just know that she was a favorite in a good (Pennington) family"(being the baby too !!). Married to a Richmond municipal pioneer; raising two young men that would go on to become school Principals; a loving devoted daughter and a son serving as a Minister is all to be praised. Another son, a leader among young achievers that was taken all too soon, I would have called brother-in-law. With all her children's sports and academic achievement being far too lengthy to list coupled with the deserving love of the community = Job well done.
