Obituary:
Judith Ann “Judy” Jones, 79, of Connersville went home to be with the Lord at 6:45 PM Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at her residence. She had been in failing health for the past year. A life-long resident of Connersville, she was born October 6, 1930 in Connersville, one of twelve children of Raymond E. and Nellie Jeanette Hay Horner and had attended Connersville schools. In 1949 she was married to Louis Jones of Connersville. Mr. Jones passed away February 20, 2000. For more than 27 years she was employed at Stant Manufacturing, retiring in 1991. A member of the Community Gospel Church, she had been a member of the First Baptist Church and the Fayette Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. During he leisure she enjoyed sewing, flower gardening and spending time with her family. Survivors include two daughters: Cheri McQueen and spouse, Carson, of Connersville and Debra Ann Blevins of Connersville; six grandchildren: Jennifer Woodward of Cambridge City, Stacy Samuels of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Tania Lay and Lisa Lay, both of Connersville, Jeremy Jones of Texas, Jama Sullivan of Connersville; 16 great-grandchildren; a special friend, Junior Manley of Connersville; six sisters: Patricia Kelsch, Teresa Lynn Sherwood and Nancy Rambo all of Connersville, Carolyn Joyce Bartlett and Madeline Kay Furgeson, both of California, and Claraette Berry of Florida; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her husband of 50 years, she is preceded in death by a son, Dennis Wayne Jones, who died January 4, 2007; a daughter, Linda Jo Jones, who died in 1949; a granddaughter, Julia Ann Jones, who died February 9, 1994; two brothers and three sisters. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Saturday, December 26, 2009 at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home. Burial will be in Dale Cemetery. Friends may call from 11 AM until the time of services on Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made in care of the funeral home to the Fayette County Cancer Fund or to the Saint Vincent Hospital Oncology Department Fund.
