Obituary:
Karen Lynn Thackrey, 44 of Connersville passed away Thursday, February 11, 2010 at her residence. She was born July 3, 1965 in Connersville, one of three children of John R. & Marjorie L. Ketcham Thackrey. A 1983 graduate of Connersville High School and she had attended Ivy Tech College. For over 22 years, she was employed at Visteon as a line tender. She was a member of the Western Avenue Baptist Church. She loved to take care of horses and other animals. An avid Nascar and open wheel racing fan, she enjoyed listening to music, attending music concerts and spending time with her family, especially her two nephews. Survivors include her parents, John & Marjorie Thackery of Connersville; a sister, Sharon K. Nasser and husband, Jason of Greenwood, IN; a brother, Brian Thackrey of Chicago, IL; two nephews, Nicolas and Nathan Nasser of Greenwood, IN; several aunts, uncles and cousins. She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Ray and Mae Thackrey; maternal grandparents, Carl and Bertha Ketcham . Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Thursday, February 18, 2010 at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home with Pastor Troy Bishop officiating. Burial will be in Dale Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 until 8 PM Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fayette County Animal Shelter or the Gideon Bible Memorial Fund or to the donor’s choice.
