James Edward Jobe, 55, of Connersville, died unexpectedly on Saturday Feb. 13, 2010, at Fayette Regional Health System.
He was born on February 16, 1954 in Connersville the son of James Eugene Jobe and Hattie Marie (Campbell) Crumb. He graduated from Holmes High School, Covington, Kentucky in 1972 and shortly there after returned to Connersville where he has resided since.
On March 16, 1975, he married Teresa Joan Jeter with whom he had three children. James worked many jobs including D&M and Visteon but currently owned his own business, Jim’s DJ Service; where he provided musical entertainment in a variety of settings and was custodian at the American Legion Post 1 in Connersville.
He was an active member of the American Legion, AMVETS, Moose Lodge and an adult 4-H leader for eighteen years where he assisted with the rabbits, chickens, waterfowl and other livestock events. In his spare time he enjoyed working on computers, spending time with family and friends, assisting local bands, listening to music and watching movies. He also enjoyed showing custom cars.
James was preceded in death by his mother, step mother Joyce (Burley) Eskine, and best friend, Raymond Evans.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa Jobe of Connersville; two daughters Audrey Dice and husband Jason of Rushville and Kimberley Lynn and Jeremy Lovins of Connersville; a son James and wife Amanda (Bowles) of Connersville; four grandchildren: Alivea Lynn (father Jason Lynn), Lane, Hunter and Payton Dice; seven brothers Dusty (Butch) Wiley and wife of Fresno, California, Eddie McMurray and wife Lora (Harmon) of Connersville, David McMurray of Hewitt, Texas, Tony McMurray and companion Stephanie of Beaunfort, SC, Paul McMurray and wife Barbara of Elkhart, Indiana, Sammy McMurray and wife Glenda of Fairmont, Indiana, Robbie Mc Murray of Texas; two sisters Connie (McMurray) Cooper and husband Greg of Fairmont, Indiana and Brenda (McMurray) Gay of Heidenheimer, Texas numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11 AM at Miller, Moster, and Robbins Funeral Home with Eric Hopkins officiating. Burial will be in Dale Cemetery. Dinner will follow at the American Legion in Connersville. Friends may call Thursday from 4 to 8 PM at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made in care of the funeral home to the James Jobe Memorial Fund.
