Mildred B. Moster, 83, formerly of Laurel, who had been a resident at Heritage House for the past six years, passed away Friday, February 19, 2010 at Reid Hospital & Health Care Services, where she had been a patient for the past week.
She was born October 24, 1926 in Clay County, KY, the daughter of George and Mary Rogers Abner. She grew up in Clay County, attended school there, and came to Laurel for residence in 1949.
On February 27, 1950, she was married in Laurel to Paul Moster. They owned and operated the Laurel Elevator and the Laurel Hotel for many years. Mr. Moster died July 19, 2002.
She was a member of the Laurel Church of Christ and its Missionary Society. She especially loved hosting and attending Missionary Meetings with the ladies of her church. She enjoyed quilting and made many quilts for her family for special occasions. She also loved reading her bible and spending time with family.
Survivors include a son, George Moster and his wife, Patricia, of Connersville; a grandson, George Nathan Moster of Cincinnati; a stepson, Rodney Moster and wife, Shirley, and a step granddaughter, Kim Moster Elverman, all of Silver Lake, WI; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Lois Abner and Docie Osborne, and two half brothers, Ray Abner and Clyde Abner.
Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Terry Cochran at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 24, 2010 in Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home, where friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Laurel North Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made at the funeral home to the Scleroderma Foundation.
