Ernest “ET” Isaacs, 84, of Connersville died Friday evening, February 19, 2010 at Saint Vincent Heart Care Center of Indiana, Indianapolis. While under physicians care for several years, his death was unexpected.
He was born February 5, 1926 in Hamilton, Ohio, one of eight children of Leonard and Dorothy Lakes Isaacs. He grew up in the Chestnut Flat area of Jackson County, Kentucky.
Following the death of his father when he was 13, he worked on the family farm to provide for the family.
During World War II, he served with the U. S. Army and received an honorable discharge
On August 3, 1946, he married Meda Fowler of Jackson County, Kentucky. They moved to Connersville and Ernest worked for 33 years at Ford Refrigeration and Electronics, where he became a group leader before his retirement. Mrs. Isaacs died May 14, 1998.
Ernest was a member of the Full Gospel Holiness Church.
A lover of the outdoors, Ernest was a well known and highly respected old-time fox hunter and loved going on fox hunts until his failing health restricted his sports activities. He enjoyed the time spent on fox hunts with friends and was especially proud of the hunting dogs he trained and bred. He loved being with friends and family and was loved for his humorous storytelling.
