Billy “Bill” Moore Arnold, 95, formerly of Connersville passed away Thursday afternoon, July 18, 2019, at The Enclave Senior Living in Fishers, Indiana where he had been a resident since June.

 He was born May 21, 1924, in Central City, Kentucky, one of five children of George Oliver and Alma Jewell Moore Arnold.  A 1942 graduate of Central City High School, Bill played several years on the high school varsity basketball team.

Bill was a veteran of the U. S. Army during WWII, where he served as a Private First Class with the 343rd Engineer General Service Regiment. Following his honorable discharge, he moved to the Connersville area for residence shortly after that. A proud veteran, Bill was selected to participate in an Honor Flight to Washington D.C. in 2017.

On February 29, 1964, he was married in Richmond, Indiana to Jo Ann Shirley.  Mrs. Arnold passed away on June 5, 1999.

For 23 years, he was employed with D & M Manufacturing until his retirement.  Following his retirement, Bill returned working and was employed for Meals on Wheels for 20 years.

Bill was a faithful member of Connersville Baptist Church.  Bill was a 58-year member of the American Legion Post No. #65, Richmond, Indiana. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge.   An accomplished bowler, Bill had bowled several 700 plus series thru the years and had traveled throughout the country participating in various bowling tournaments.  He also enjoyed boating and golfing, along with his wife enjoyed woodworking projects and attended several craft shows to sell their woodworking items.

Survivors include children: Jenny (Gary) Frank, of Fishers, IN, Troy Reed, of the World,Connie Cartwright, of Greenfield, IN, and John (Sherri) Devor, of Findlay, OH; grandchildren: Ryan(Carrie) Dolphin, Jeff Dolphin, Stephen Dolphin, Kevin(Crystal) Dolphin, Corey Frank, Cara Ponder, Kendra Thomas, Kelsa Cartwright, Cindy Seale, Kim Holland, Raeanne Reed, Mariah (Troy) Reed, Nick Devor, Cody (Alyssa) Devor and Cory (Christina) Devor; great-grandchildren Sarah Dolphin, Sean Shadick, Cora Dolphin, Anthony Dolphin, Taryn Dolphin, Ethan Dolphin, Kiersten Dolphin, Katlyn Dolphin, Ryan Seale, Ashley Seale Woods, Haley Holland, Madyson Hicks, Brenndon Thompson, Alora England, Drake England, Shaela Creech, Tyler Sheets, Mallory Sheets, Hudson Devor, Kennedy Devor, Karmen Devor and Konnor Devor; several nieces, nephews , including Beverly (Bruce) Robertson. Surviving is also his long-time companion, Marge Fuller.

Besides his wife of 35 years Jo Ann, he is preceded in death by a son, Clete Reed; a grandson, Ricky Reed; his father, George Arnold and mother, Alma Jewell Arnold Hickman; two brothers, Bishop Cline Arnold and A.G. Arnold; two sisters, Martel Arnold and Maggie Lanz.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 PM, Thursday, July 25, 2019, at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home with Reverend George Nester officiating.  Burial with military honors will follow at Dale Cemetery.
