Duane Couch, 68, of Connersville went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by his loving family, following a courageous battle with cancer Thursday morning, July 13, 2017 at his home.
One of six children of William and Cassie Mae Fox Couch, Duane was born on June 18, 1949 in Batesville, Indiana.
On November 7, 1966, Duane married the former Claudia Turner in Blooming Grove. Mrs. Couch survives.
Duane was employed at Design and Manufacturing for 27 years, a carpenter in New Castle for ten years and as Direct Care Staff at Residential CRF.
He was a member of Blooming Grove Southern Baptist Church where he had served as a Deacon and he also had attended Central Christian Church in Connersville. A hardworking man, Duane enjoyed carpentry, flipping houses, being outside, playing card games and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of over fifty years, Claudia Couch; four daughters, Tracy Lynn (Art) Pollitt, Kelley S. (Tim) Bunch, Denise Leanne (Jeremy) Snider and Alyssia Grace (Izzy) Couch, all of Connersville; seven grandchildren, Travis Weston, Erica Weston, Zachary Duane Bunch, Timothy Tyler Bunch, Sierra Danielle Bunch, Chandler G. Shepler, Layton J. Snider; five great-grandchildren, Alaina Martin, Clinton D. Weston, Brayden Bunch, Emma Bunch, Bo Bunch; a sister, Geraldine Rutherford of New Castle, Indiana; brothers, Marion (Martha) Couch of Alabama, Thomas (Helen) Couch of Metamora, Indiana, Benjamin (Patricia) Couch of Metamora, Michael (Nancy) Couch of Connersville. He is blessed with several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Duane is preceded in death by his parents; a son-in-law, Clinton D. Weston in March of 2005; two granddaughters, Amber W. Bunch in 1988 and Jesendra D. Shepler in 1993.
A celebration of Duane’s life will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, July 17, 2017 at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home. Pastor Jeffrey Deaton, Pastor Freddie Helton and Pastor Chris Lovett will officiate. Burial will follow at Laurel North Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
