Garner Duane Allen, 59, of Connersville, passed away early Monday morning, February 26, 2018, at his home. He had been in failing health for several years.
One of three children of Edward and Myrna L. Story Allen, Garner was born in Connersville on June 29, 1958.
Garner attended Laurel High School and was a Canal Boat Operator in Metamora for many years. He worked at Visteon as a HiLo driver, retiring after 30 years of service.
An avid outdoorsman, Garner enjoyed hunting and fishing. In his younger years, he was a Boy Scout and more recently was a member of the Laurel Conservation Club and the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #1160.
Survivors include his mother, Myrna Allen; partner, Stacey Allen; three children, April Allen, Faith Allen, and Karena Allen, all of Connersville; three granddaughters, Autumn Hensley, Charity Hensley, Adrionna Griffin; four grandsons, Jedediah Johnson, Tristan Thomas, Levi Thomas, Bentley Allen; two sisters, Robin (Greg) Phillips of Bloomington, Indiana and Christina Allen-Hanna of Batesville, Indiana.
Garner was preceded in death by his father, Edward Allen; a daughter, Candace Allen-Peters; and a grandson, Leon Clark.
Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 2, 2018 at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home. Reverend Wayne Ison will officiate. Burial will be in Laurel North cemetery.
