Gerald D. Harris, 79, of Connersville passed away suddenly Wednesday morning, February 14, 2018, at Fayette Regional Health System.
A son of Cleon and Minnie Mitchell Harris, Gerald was born on March 24, 1938, in Connersville and was a graduate of Connersville High School.
Gerald served his country in the United States Navy from 1956 until 1959, and on May 13, 1960, he married the former Anita Darlene Ailes in Connersville. Mrs. Harris passed away on July 4, 2012.
Survivors include two sons, Rickiey David Harris and his wife Denise and Mickiey Joe Harris, both of Connersville, a daughter, Tena McIntosh and her husband Ray of Connersville, eight grandchildren, Christopher Adam McIntosh, Tia Renee McIntosh, Mickiey Joe Harris, Charles E. Harris, Bertha Jennett Harris, Cleon David Harris, Ashley Renee Harris and Angel Marie Harris, two step-grandchildren, Chelsea and Kimberly Pollitt; one great-grandchild, Braxton Kaine McIntosh; four step-great-grandchildren, Kaleb Becraft, Ryder Ellis, Lidia Parks, and Mackenzie Parks; a brother, Robert (Esther) Harris of North Carolina; two half-sisters, Helen and Joann; several nieces and nephews.
Besides his wife of fifty-two years, Anita Harris, Gerald was preceded in death by two sisters, Bertha Harris and Linda Clark; two step-brothers, Gene Case and Jerry Case.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at Dale Cemetery, Connersville with military honors provided by the Fayette County Veterans Council. Family and friends may call from 9:00 until 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home.
