Glenn E. Schaefer, 92, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at his home in Leland, Michigan.
Born April 21, 1926 in Connersville, Indiana to Joseph Charles and Elsie Bredensteiner Schaefer, Glenn spent 78 years in Connersville before moving to Leland in 2004. Glenn worked at Stant Manufacturing his entire career where he became the Vice President of the Sales and Aftermarket division.
In 1953, he married Janet Lee Kinder who survives. Other survivors include their three children, Steve Schaefer (wife Teresa) of Independence, Kentucky, Kim Speicher (husband David) of Cedar, Michigan, and John Schaefer (wife Tammy) of Jupiter, Florida. They also have seven grandchildren, Flint Speicher, Evan Speicher (wife Whitney), Adam Speicher (wife Carly), Luke Speicher, Jacob Schaefer, Zachary Schaefer, and Gabriella Schaefer as well as five great-granddaughters.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Joe Schaefer.
Glenn wholeheartedly believed in the value of working hard while being fun-loving in all life’s circumstances. His humor could lighten any tough challenge or inspire those he loved most to enjoy life as much as he did. Aside from being a devoted family man and successful in business, he fully appreciated traveling, boating, gardening and the simple act of enjoying a Bud Light with friends and family. He will be sincerely missed by all those who knew and loved him.
