Helen Joanne Parvis, 85, of Connersville passed away Monday, July 15, 2019, at Ambassador Healthcare of Centerville, IN.
She was born September 7, 1933, in Richmond, IN, one of three children of Ernest Lindly and Eleanor Hart Russell.
Helen was married to Richard “Dick” Showalter who preceded her in death.
She was a nurse’s aide for several years at Fayette Memorial Hospital and for many years, she was the church secretary for the First Presbyterian Church of Connersville where she was also a member.
Helen enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include five grandchildren, Tyler Day, of Connersville, Chasity Showalter, of Marion, IN, Asia Harrison, of Connersville, Dustin Gibbs, of Richmond and Nikki Smith, of Florence, KY; six great-grandchildren, Bailey Smith, Miley Smith, Hailey Yeakle, Kiley Yeakle, Gracie Smith and Jasper Hundley; a brother, William Russell, of Virginia. Besides her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, a step-mother, Mary Russell; two daughters, Marsha Gibbs, who died in 2019 and Patti Harrison, who died in 2013; her twin sister, Virginia Conner; a grandson, Chris Gibbs and a great-grandson, Ashton Gibbs-Duffin.
A Memorial service will be conducted at 11 AM, Wednesday, July 24, 2019, at Miller, Moster Robbins Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Willow Gove Cemetery, Fountain City, IN. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10 AM until the time of service.
