Henry M. Reitzel, 93, of Connersville passed away Wednesday evening, November 22, 2017 at Caroleton Manor.
One of two children of James G. and Hattie Morton Reitzel, Henry was born on June 27, 1924 in Greensboro, North Carolina and moved to Richmond, Indiana with his family.
Following his high school graduation, Henry served his country in the United States Army in the 249th Engineer Combat Battalion, European Theater during World War II. He received his honorable discharge in 1948.
On September 24, 1948, Henry married the former Ada M. Shepperd in Richmond. Mrs Reitzel passed away on November 27, 2008.
He was employed in the machine development department as Chief Inspector at Stant Manufacturing for 27 years, retiring in 1986.
Henry was a member of First Baptist Church of Connersville where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher for many years. In his leisure, he enjoyed fishing, gardening, boating, traveling and spending time with his family.
Survivors include three daughters, Beth Smith of Connersville, Melody Mosburg of Charleston, South Carolina, and Jamie (Joe) Rigney of Rushville, Indiana; four grandchildren, Mandy Mosburg, Chris (Windy) Mosburg, Jake (Kassie) Rigney, and Matt (Amber) Smith; five great-grandchildren; several cousins.
Besides his wife of 60 years, Ada Reitzel, Henry was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister.
Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home. Pastor Mal Gibson will officiate. Burial will follow in Dale Cemetery.
