Jerian Brandenburg, 76, of Connersville passed away Friday, December 28th, 2018 at IU Health-University Hospital, Indiana.
Jerian was born in Connersville on September 8th, 1942 to E. Leymoin and Beulah Swartz Miller. She was one of two children.
She graduated from Connersville High School in 1960 and then went on to attend Ball State University. She is survived by her loving husband, F. Duane Brandenburg, whom she married July 8th, 1961 in Grand Avenue United Methodist Church. Her career was compiled of being church secretary for Grand Avenue United Methodist Church, working at Central State Bank and its successor, Fifth Third Bank of Connersville. At Fifth Third, she was a bank teller until she was promoted to Trust Officer.
She was also a faithful member of the Grand Avenue United Methodist Church as well as a member of the United Methodist Women Association. She served as President of the church’s Happy Time Preschool for 20 years and was a faithful worker of the church’s Mission Mart.
When she was 18, Jerian joined the Zeta Chapter of Kappa Kappa Sigma Sorority and served as the chapter President several terms. Alongside helping with the community food bank, she was a former member of the board of directors of the Fayette County Foundation.
During her leisure time, she enjoyed crocheting, knitting, reading, gardening, and swimming in her pool. She thoroughly loved spending time with her family either at the beach or at Walt Disney World.
Besides her husband of 57 years, Duane, Jerian is survived by her two daughters Tami Gray-Myers (Alan) and Trisha Austerman (Bill). Jerian had four grandchildren, Wesley and Erica Gray of Indianapolis and Will and Alex Austerman of Connersville. She is also survived by her niece and nephew, cousins, and her beloved dogs, Josie and Molly.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Jerald “JN” Miller.
Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Gwen Pew at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 4th, 2019 at Grand Avenue United Methodist Church, with burial following at Dale Cemetery. Friends may also call at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 3rd, 2019. Condolences may be made any time online at millermosterrobbins.com.
