Joan Regina Dudley, 86, of Connersville, passed away Sunday morning, April 8, 2018, at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis.
The oldest of three daughters of Irvin and Frances Hauri Reisert, Joan was born on May 11, 1931, in Connersville.
On December 24, 1948, Joan married Ted Dudley in Wayne County, Indiana. Mr. Dudley passed away in November 2004. Along with her husband, Joan was a standing timber buyer and logger, and for many years they farmed in Columbia Township. For a number of years, she also assisted her sister, Rita Jinks in the Fayette County Clerks Office.
Joan was a past member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #1160 and Fraternal Order of Eagles Connersville Aerie #1065 auxiliaries, and the Fayette County Democratic Women’s Club. She also was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church. In her leisure time, Joan enjoyed reading, mushroom hunting, and working on craft projects.
Survivors include three children, Michele L. Dudley (fiance’, Eric Cantrell), Bruce (Ginger) Dudley, Denise Dudley; two grandchildren, Deanna Dudley and Christopher (Mandy) Jarrett, all of Connersville; four great-grandchildren, Hannah Dudley of Greenwood, Adam Jarrett of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Alan Jarrett of Connersville, Dustin Sullivan of Indianapolis; a great-great-grandson, Weston Jarrett of Cheyenne, Wyoming; two sisters, Rita (Danny) Clark of Connersville and Pat Jacobs of Burlington, North Carolina; nieces, Kim (Darrell) Cox and Linda Jinks, all of Connersville; a nephew, Jim (Theresa) Jacobs of Denver, Colorado; two great-nephews; several cousins; special friends for many years, Billie Sue Dalrymple of Connersville and Darla Parrett of Rushville; and her beloved dog, Jocko.
Joan was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Ted Dudley; a daughter, Renee Dudley Jarrett; a grandson, Shane Dudley; a daughter-in-law, Joanna Dudley; a special niece, Mary Jo Johnson; and a brother-in-law, Donald Jinks.
Family and friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 noon on Friday, April 13, 2018, at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 232 W 9th Street, Connersville, Indiana. Reverend Dustin Boehm will officiate. Burial will follow in Laurel North Cemetery. Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
