Joyce Ann Bishop, 70, of Everton went home to be with the Lord early Thursday morning, October 25, 2018.  She had been in failing health for several years and had been under the loving care of her devoted family.

One of six children of Arthur and Jessie Gabbard Evans, Joyce was born on July 29, 1948, in Rushville, Indiana and graduated from Rushville Consolidated High School.

On October 26, 1966, Joyce married Robert Edward “Eddie” Bishop in Metamora Baptist Church.  Mr. Bishop survives.

Joyce was a member of Everton Southern Baptist Church.  A devoted homemaker for most of her life, she had worked at Visteon and Design & Manufacturing in Connersville for a few years.  She was an avid baker and a great cook. Joyce also enjoyed being outdoors and walking, sometimes walking five miles a day.

Besides her husband of 51 years, Eddie Bishop, survivors include two children, Mark Scott Bishop of Muncie, Indiana and Adena Carol (Dennis) Ellis of Everton; three grandchildren, Garrett Beaty of Rushville, Kerstin Ellis and Carson Ellis, both of Everton; a sister, Beverly Sue Burgoon of Liberty; four brothers, Dean (Drue) Evans of Glenwood, Indiana, Gary (Wanda) Evans of Thomasville, North Carolina, Danny (Debbie) Evans of Everton, Rick (Roxanne) Evans of Connersville.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM, Monday, October 29, 2018 at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home with Pastor Freddie Helton officiating.  Burial will be in Everton Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 AM Monday until the time of the service.  Friends may also visit anytime  for online condolences at millermosterrobbins.com.
