Ruby Bachmann, 83, of Connersville passed away early Wednesday morning, May 16, 2018, at Caroleton Manor where she had been a resident for the past four years.
One of seven children of William Earnest and Opie Elizabeth Sammons Hatfield, Ruby was born on November 2, 1934, in Westbourne, Tennessee.
On September 3, 1949, Ruby married William Robert Bachmann. Mr. Bachmann passed away on May 11, 2004.
Ruby was a faithful and dedicated member of Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Lakeview. She worked at Visteon in Connersville for 30 years, retiring in 2002. An avid homemaker, Ruby enjoyed sewing and baking, and could often be found selling her handmade dolls and baked goods at the Whistle Stop in Metamora. She took pride in taking care of her family and in her leisure time, enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, and playing both board games and computer games.
Survivors include her children, Vickie (Thomas) Powers of Connersville, Glenda (Tim) Adkins of Falmouth, Robert Bachmann, Karen (Delbert) Carey all of Connersville, Jana (Chuck) Vohland of Clarksburg, Tina (David) Fox of Connersville; twelve grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Junior (Ruth) Hatfield of Indianapolis and Jim (DeeDee) Hatfield of Tuscan, Arizona; sisters, Mildred Murrell of Miami, Arizona and Margie Fields of Connersville; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Besides her husband of 54 years, William Robert Bachmann, Ruby is preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Debbie Carey; a grandson, Andrew Adkins; a great-grandson, Jesse Robert Colley, Jr.; sisters, Janette Kibbey and Liz Nezelek; brothers-in-law, Coy Kibbey, Bill Murrell, and Wayne Fields; a sister-in-law, Betty Hatfield.
Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 19, 2018, at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home. Pastor Tim Fluty will officiate. Burial will follow in Dale Cemetery.
