Shirley Ann Sams, 77, passed away Monday morning, June 17, 2019, at her summer home in Brookville, Indiana.

One of eight children of Robert, Jr. and Bonnie Evans Tomlin, Shirley was born on August 9, 1941, in Addyston, Ohio.  With her family, she moved to Rushville, Indiana and attended Rush County Schools.

On March 10, 1963, Shirley married Paul Edward Sams in Connersville.  Mr. Sams survives.

For over twenty years, Shirley was employed at Visteon.

She had attended Western Avenue Baptist Church and in her leisure time, enjoyed playing bingo, painting in oil and acrylic, and wintering in Florida with her husband.

Besides her husband of 56 years, Paul Sams, survivors include a daughter, Tracy Lynn (Mark) Bramer of Connersville; seven grandchildren, Nichole “Nikki” Worl, Jennifer Sizemore, Blake Nutty, Stacie Rhodehamel, Rebecca Bramer, Alan Throop, and Chelsie Mann; twelve great-grandchildren; five sisters, Jeannie Ward of Milroy, Indiana, Juanita (Riley) Dixon, Betty (Mickey) Hunter, all of Connersville, Carolyn (Irl) Ruhl of Mount Vernon, Ohio, and Linda (Carson) Plowman of Gilbert, Arizona; a brother, Darrell (Debbie) Tomlin of Mariposa, California; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Bill Throop, Jr.; a sister, Barbara Lykins; father and mother-in-law, Hardin and Kate Sams; two brothers-in-law, Billy Ward and Jesse Crowe.

Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2019, at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home.  Reverend Charles “Bob” Ward will officiate.  Burial will follow in Dale Cemetery.
