Simone Marie Schoettmer, 58, of Connersville passed away unexpectedly Thursday evening, October 18, 2018, at Fayette Regional Health System.

One of five children of John Rollin and Gloria Taflinger Taylor, Simone was born on December 29, 1959, in Muncie, Indiana.  She moved to Connersville as a child with her family and graduated from Connersville High School with the class of 1978.

On October 27, 1979, Simone married Philip William Schoettmer in St. Gabriel Church.  Mr. Schoettmer survives.

Simone was a member of St. Gabriel Church.  She was employed at Visteon for 15 years until their closing and at Schneider Electric in Oxford, Ohio for ten years.

A horse enthusiast, Simone loved taking care of and riding horses.  In her leisure time, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter, Kenzie.  She also enjoyed spending time with her pet dogs.

Besides her husband of 37 years, Philip Schoettmer, survivors include a daughter, Tonya (Michael) Webber-Fowler of Connersville; a granddaughter, Kenzie Webber-Fowler of Connersville; a sister, Tina Taylor of Richmond; two brothers, Rick (Jane) Taylor of Connersville and Mike (Cinda) Taylor of Worthington, Indiana; a half-brother, Nicky Yarbrough of London, Kentucky; a step-sister, Dawn (Steve) Sheveland of Lebanon Junction, Kentucky; mother-in-law, Mary Schoettmer of Connersville; brother-in-law, Rick (Neva) Schoettmer of Connersville; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a special friend, Rhonda Barnes of Connersville.

Simone was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Robert Yarbrough; brother, Rollin Taylor; step-brother, Terry Yarbrough; father-in-law, Tony Schoettmer; brother-in-law, Larry Schoettmer; and sister-in-law, Mary Ann Schoettmer.

Recitation of the Rosary will be at 10:30 a.m. with visitation to follow until the celebration of Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at St. Gabriel Catholic Church.  Reverend Dustin Boehm will officiate.  Burial will follow in Lick Creek Cemetery.  Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
