William "Bill" L. Snider

June 15, 1939 ~ April 29, 2019 (age 79)

William “Bill” L. Snider, 79, of Brookville passed away early Monday morning, April 29, 2019, at McCullough-Hyde Hospital in Oxford, Ohio.

One of three children of Howard K. and Mary L. Chambers Snider, Bill was born on June 15, 1939, in Connersville.

Bill was raised in Fairfield, Indiana and attended Brookville schools until moving with his family to Phoenix, Arizona in 1956.  Following his high school graduation, Bill enlisted in the United States Army, serving in the Philippines and Thailand.

After serving his country, Bill returned to Phoenix then to Fairfield where he began working at Philco-Ford, retiring from Visteon in 2001 after 38 years of service.

On June 5, 1970, Bill married the former Karen S. Lietzan in Whitcomb, Indiana.  Mrs. Snider survives.

Bill was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, the Whitewater Valley Woodcarvers Club, and had been a member of the Fairfield Masonic Lodge.  Bill was an avid fisherman and gardener.  He would grow extra tomato plants to share with church members on Mother’s Day.

Besides his wife of 48 years, Karen S. Snider, survivors include two children, Sue Ellen (Keith) Bean and Joe Snider (April Pea), all of Connersville; two grandchildren, Olivia and Roscoe Bean, both of Connersville; two sisters, Tressa (Everett) Glaub of Phoenix, Arizona and Betty Larson of Gilbert, Arizona; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother-in-law, Karl Larson.

Family and friends may call from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 2, 2019, at Peace Lutheran Church, 701 W 3rd Street, Connersville, Indiana.  Reverend Norman Dew will officiate.  Burial will follow in Dale Cemetery.  Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
